Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy students celebrate this results day

Students at Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy received their hard-earned post-16 results today. After two years of studying, preparation, hard work and determination, year 13 students at the academy are now celebrating their results.

This year’s cohort saw key success in business studies, mathematics and English language, amongst other areas. Students are now preparing to take their next steps in education and in their careers, with many securing coveted university places or positions in highly-skilled employment.

Alongside the success of the school, some of the individual standout achievements include:  

  • Leo Buyuktepe who successfully achieved four As in mathematics, chemistry, physics and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), and has secured his place to study physics at the University of Leeds. 
  • Emily Stewart who achieved two As in biology and the EPQ and two Bs in chemistry and mathematics, securing her place at the University of Liverpool to study medicine.
  • Ruby Bramwell who obtained a grade A in biology and grade B in chemistry, and is studying biomedical sciences at the University of Liverpool.
  • Aidon Dobson who was awarded four grade Bs in physics, mathematics, biology and the EPQ, and has received his offer to study ecology and conservation at Bangor University.
  • Mackenzie Powell who has successfully achieved a grade C in business studies and two Merits in ICT and sport, securing a place at university to study policing.
  • Bobby Cavanagh who was awarded a Distinction in sport, a grade B in mathematics and two grade Cs in chemistry and the EPQ. He has secured his place at the University of Liverpool to study actuarial mathematics.
  • Leon Sherwin achieved a grade B in history, a C in Spanish and a D in law.
